Bullying & Cyberbullying – Recognize, Understand, Act
Bullying, whether in the classroom or in digital spaces, is a form of violence that can have serious and lasting effects on children and adolescents. In particular, cyberbullying presents a growing challenge due to its constant accessibility and wide reach.
Bullying is not an isolated incident but a group phenomenon that occurs both online and offline. Repeated exclusion, humiliation, or threats from peers can have negative effects on a young person’s social, emotional, and educational development, with long-term consequences.
In our online format, we explore the topic from multiple perspectives:
- What exactly is bullying/cyberbullying?
- How does it arise, and why is it a group dynamic?
- How can educators and other caregivers recognize it early and respond appropriately?
- How can educators prevent bullying/cyberbulling?
